Welcome to the new online course for RUAH at St. Joseph’s Basingstoke. Here you will gain access to the materials needed for preparation for this important Sacrament. With some private study, prayer time and reflection you will be able to discern and show your readiness for this big step: to be sealed with the Holy Spirit – an indelible mark which completes your baptism and pledges your membership of Christ’s body, the Church.

Once you're logged in, on the left you will see the ‘My Enrolled Courses’ button which will get you started. Activities will be set to be completed on a fortnightly basis, followed by a Zoom prayer and Q&A session on the second and fourth Fridays of the month. We will also offer 3 one-to-one sessions with the mentoring team, adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and an opportunity for Reconciliation.

You will find it useful to have a Catholic Bible (e.g. the Jerusalem Bible) and a Catechism. YouCat is the version of the Catechism recommended for teens but you may also find the Penny (or Baltimore) Catechism handy for a brief and easily memorable guide to our faith.
